Ashby Jones

The Wall Street Journal
Bureau Chief, Law
New York, NY, USA

Ashby is the chief of The Wall Street Journal's Law Bureau, and is responsible for coordinating and planning all of the paper's legal coverage. His team of six reporters covers everything from white-collar crime to legal business to the major personalities and trends affecting law and the legal landscape in the U.S.

Prior to becoming bureau chief in the spring of 2016, Ashby worked as a legal-affairs reporter at the Journal and, before that, worked as the lead writer of the WSJ's Law Blog (RIP!). Before becoming a journalist, Ashby worked as a litigation associate in a large west-coast law firm, and clerked for a federal appeals judge in New York.
