Art Samansky is the principal of The Samansky Group (www.samanskygroup.com), a Long Island-based corporate communications consulting firm, an adjunct instructor in the Business School at the State University of New York College at Old Westbury, and a member of the Executive-in-Residence Team at the School of Business.

He has been media and presentation/speech training executives  in  financial services, law, science, and other businesses for more than 40 years in his corporate communications and consulting roles, and  developed two proprietary coaching programs and related manuals: “In-Control©” media training, and “Power-Speak©” presentation/speech training. He also specializes in message development, crisis communications planning, strategic communications planning, and helping clients develop the elements for media/investor-friendly websites.

Prior to forming his firm in late 2000, Art held a variety of high-profile corporate communications positions: special assistant in charge of the press and community relations staff in the public information department of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York; managing director-media relations in the communications department of the New York Stock Exchange; vice president-communications at the Securities Industry Association; senior vice president, HSBC Group public affairs-U.S.A.; and managing director of a midsize New York public relations/investor relations firm. He began his career as a business and financial reporter in New York City at the New York World-Telegram & Sun/World Journal Tribune, and later served as a copyeditor at a global news service, AP-Dow Jones.

Art earned a master of arts degree in 1977 and a bachelor of arts degree in 1965 both from New York University’s evening division,

He has written and spoken on a range of communications issues. Many of his articles are on the firm’s website. He also has authored a wide-range of corporate communications training manuals: “When Lawyers Talk To The Press ©;” “Preparing  Executives For Media Interviews, Presentations©;”  “Preparing Executive Biographical Sketches ©;”  “In-Focus©” strategic communications planning; “Writing Successful Press Releases©;”  “Pitching: The S.T.A.R.
