Anthony F. Fata is a partner in the Chicago office of Cafferty Clobes Meriwether & Sprengel LLP. He has litigated a wide range of commodities, securities, antitrust, consumer fraud and class action matters and has represented clients in a variety of investigations and regulatory matters. Mr. Fata began his career in the trial and white collar practice groups at McDermott, Will & Emery, where he defended commodities, securities, and consumer fraud class actions and SEC regulatory matters. 

Among other publications and speaking engagements, Mr. Fata: authored or presented at: “Evidentiary Inquiries on Class Certification after Wal-Mart v. Dukes (March 2012); IICLE Securities was a panelist for the 22nd Annual DePaul Law Review Symposium, “Class Action Rollback? Wal-Mart v. Dukes and the Future of Class Action Litigation” (2012); the 2013, 2014 and 2015 Practising Law Institute Chicago seminars on Internal Investigations; “The SEC’s Whistleblower Program” (PLI Spring 2015); “The CFTC’s Whistleblower Program” (PLI Spring 2014); “Untangling the Seamless Web: Seven Critical Assumptions When Planning Internal Investigations” (PLI Spring 2013); “Doomsday Delayed: How the Court’s Party-Neutral Clarification of Class Certification Standards in Wal-Mart v. Dukes Actually Helps Plaintiffs, 62 DePaul Law Review 675 (Spring 2011).

Mr. Fata is a 1999 graduate of The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law, where he graduated with honors and was elected to the Order of the Coif. Mr. Fata received his undergraduate degree from Miami University in 1995, where he was selected to serve on the Miami University Student Foundation.
