Anne K. Small is General Counsel at the Securities and Exchange Commission.  From 2011 to 2013, Ms. Small worked at the White House Counsel’s Office, serving as Special Assistant to the President and Associate Counsel to the President, and prior to that in 2011 she served as Deputy General Counsel at the SEC.  Before joining the SEC, Ms. Small was a partner at WilmerHale in the litigation department.  Ms. Small served as a law clerk to Justice Stephen G. Breyer on the U.S. Supreme Court and to Judge Guido Calabresi on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.  Ms. Small graduated in 1996 from Yale University and in 2001 from Harvard Law School, where she served as President of the Harvard Law Review and won the Sears Prize.
