Ann Cathcart Chaplin is an intellectual property litigator at Fish & Richardson. As the firm’s Litigation Practice Group Leader, she is responsible for the firm’s largest practice group. Ms. Chaplin is also an elected member of the firm’s seven-person Management Committee and serves as the Managing Partner of the Twin Cities office. 

Ms. Chaplin’s legal practice emphasizes patent, trade secret, and trademark litigation and enforcement. Her comprehensive experience extends to a variety of technologies, including chemicals, consumer products, manufacturing, medical devices, semiconductors, and software.  Ms. Chaplin forges very strong relationships with her clients - including inventors, business unit executives, internal legal departments, and top management. She is known for assiduously focusing on each client’s overarching business goals for the technology in question in order to bring about highly strategic, and practical, outcomes.

As the firm’s Litigation Practice Group Leader, Ms. Chaplin is focused on constantly improving how Fish & Richardson’s litigation group delivers legal services.   Fish takes pride in delivering the highest quality, most efficient legal services and support possible to their clients, and Ms. Chaplin recently introduced their eFISHent Litigation™ approach.
