Angel Louis Ortiz, Jr. is Vice-President of Labor and Employee Relations for NBCUniversal Media, LLC.  He was named to this post in July of 2007.  Prior to this role, he served as a Human Resources Director and Chief Labor Counsel for four years at the Telemundo Communications Group, the company’s Spanish language media division.  Angel joined the NBCUniversal Labor Relations and Talent Negotiations group as an Attorney in May of 2002.  He is one of NBCUniversal’s chief labor spokespersons and lead negotiators, providing dedicated guidance and strategic support across various NBCUniversal divisions, including: NBC Sports & Olympics; 28 Owned/Operated TV Stations; Telemundo; NBC News; Universal Studios; cable division networks such as Bravo, Oxygen, CNBC, E!, and MSNBC; as well as entertainment shows such as the Tonight Show, Late Night, and Saturday Night Live.  His areas of expertise include labor relations, labor and employment litigation, collective bargaining negotiations, ADR, human resources, government relations, public relations, management training, positive employee relations, and talent and executive contracts. 

Prior to working for NBCUniversal, Angel worked as a labor and employment associate at the New York office of Jackson Lewis Schnitzler & Krupman, a national labor and employment law firm, advocating exclusively on behalf of management in all areas of private sector labor relations, employment law, and human resources.  He began his career in public sector labor relations as a Staff Attorney for the Office of Labor Relations and Collective Bargaining at the New York City Board of Education advocating on behalf of the Schools Chancellor at contract arbitrations and collective bargaining negotiations with various public sector unions such as the Teachers, Operating Engineers, and Janitors.

Angel graduated from The Dalton School in New York City (1988), received a B.A. from Amherst College in Massachusetts (1992), and a J.D. from Brooklyn Law School (1997).  He is based in NYC at 30 Rockefeller Plaza and resides in Westfield, New Jersey, with his wife Laura, and their sons, Drew (16) and Jordan (13).
