Andrew T. Chalnick is a managing director and deputy director of tax planning for J.P. Morgan Chase & Co. He has responsibilities across a wide range of tax matters for JP Morgan Chase including financial products, transfer pricing, structured finance, capital markets, international M&A and private equity. Mr. Chalnick has authored "Swaps and Other Derivatives - A Tax Primer", PLI, Swaps & Other Derivatives in 2001, Fall 2001. Mr. Chalnick is a member of the tax committees of the International Swaps and Derivatives Association, Inc., the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association and the Committee of Banking Institutions on Taxation.

From 1992 to 1999, and prior to joining J.P. Morgan Chase, Mr. Chalnick worked as a tax attorney with Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver and Jacobson in New York.

Mr. Chalnick received his JD in 1992 from the Columbia University School of Law, where he was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar. He received his MSE in Engineering in 1988 from the University of Pennsylvania. In 1987 he received his BSE in Finance, magna cum laude, from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania and his BSE in Engineering, magna cum laude, from the Moore School of Engineering, University of Pennsylvania.
