Andrea Clay is a partner in the San Francisco office of Allen Matkins where she is a member of the firm's Banking and Financial Institutions Group, specializing in real estate finance.  Andrea negotiates and documents loans secured by properties located across the country, including retail centers, office buildings, multifamily properties, mobile home parks, self-storage centers, hotels, warehouse and industrial properties, healthcare and nursing facilities, and residential subdivision developments.  Andrea has documented and/or supervised the legal work on over 1,500 loans in her career, including construction loans, syndicated loans and cmbs loans.

Andrea is a speaker on the subject of mortgage lending for the Practicing Law Institute's annual Commercial Real Estate Institute and has been a speaker for the American Bar Association Annual Meeting (Business Law Section) on the subject of real estate loan workouts.

EDUCATION

  • B.A. degree in economics in 1988 from the University of California, Los Angeles
  • J.D. and a MBA (with an emphasis in finance) in 1993 from the University of Southern California Gould School of Law.
