As General Counsel, Anahaita oversees GBM’s Legal function in the U.S., Latin America and Canada.  Prior to joining RBS Greenwich in 1998, Anahaita spent 5 years in Enforcement at the Northeast Regional Office of the Securities and Exchange Commission as a Staff Attorney, Branch Chief and Senior Trial Counsel.  While at the Commission, she investigated and prosecuted a wide variety of securities fraud cases including insider trading, market manipulation, prime bank fraud and pay to play cases.  From 1991 to 1993, she was an associate with Moquet Borde & Associates in Paris, France where she worked on some of the first shareholder class actions brought under European law. 

Anahaita is a frequent speaker on litigation and regulatory topics and is currently a member of the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association’s Executive Committee for the Compliance & Legal Division, as well as its Self-Regulation and Supervisory Practices and Litigation Advisory Committees. 

Anahaita is also a Board member and volunteer for the Pro Bono Partnership, as well as a member of its Employment Law Task Force.  She received the Partnership’s Volunteer of the Year award in 2003 and Volunteer of the Decade award in 2007.  She is also a Director of My Sisters Place, and has served as a volunteer for the Student Sponsor Partnership - a program which provides mentors to inner city high school students.  She is the former Chair of the RBS Greenwich Capital Women’s Working Group and a former Director of the Women’s Bond Club of New York.

Anahaita received a B.Sc. magna cum laude in Applied Math and Economics from Brown University in 1988 and a J.D. cum laude from Harvard Law School in 1991.
