Amy Gulinson

 Amy M. Gulinson is a partner with the Chicago office of Quarles & Brady LLP. She concentrates her practice in areas of corporate finance, lending and credit transactions, real estate transactions, project finance transactions and mergers, acquisitions and joint ventures.  Ms Gulinson's practice focuses on structuring, documenting, negotiating and closing real estate and non-real estate finance transactions.  Ms. Gulinson also has significant experience with structuring, documenting, negotiating and closing loan modifications, amendments and restatements, forbearances and workout transactions. 

 During Ms. Gulinson's legal career she has represented REITs in connection with structuring multiple tenancy in common transactions for the financing of real estate acquisitions; represented a $10 billion hedge fund in connection with a $425,000,000 structured real estate financing; represented a U.S. investment fund client in connection with a $60,000,000 real estate purchase and financing for major West coast residential housing developer; represented a U.S. power company in the acquisition and raising of over $1 billion worth of financing for the acquisition of power plants in Texas, Illinois and Oregon; represented the world's largest chicken company in the restructuring of over $1.5 billion of financing for the acquisition of a target; and has recently spent significant time assisting, on a temporary in-house basis, a subsidiary of GE Capital Corporation where she was primarily responsible for supervising the disposition of certain assets out of bankruptcy and by deed in lieu foreclosure, and management and restructuring of certain portfolio debt defaults and workouts.

Prior to her time at Quarles & Brady LLP, Ms. Gulinson started her legal career at Husch & Eppenberger LLC, now Husch Blackwell Sanders LLP, then spent time at Baker & McKenzie.  She is a graduate of St. Louis University School of Law (J.D., 2000) and Truman State University (B.A., 1997).  She is admitted in Illinois, Kansas and Missouri.  She is a Board of Director for and Vice President of the Chicago Coalition of Women in Law Firms.  Ms Gulinson has spoken/presented on the use of and structure of loan agreements, trends in loan agreement provisions, the use of leasehold mortgages in real estate financing, and acquisition financing 101.
