Alison Mitchell concentrates her practice in the area of real estate finance, real estate leasing and acquisition and divestiture law.

Alison's lending experience involves the representation of banks, finance companies and other institutional lenders in a wide variety of transactional specialties, including commercial/capital market loans, and construction and permanent financings.

Alison has been a presenter before several real estate seminars sponsored by the Young Lawyers Section of the Chicago Bar Association.


Some representative transactions over the last several years include:

  • Representation of a borrower in connection with $1.44 billion securitized loan covering 29 properties. At the time the transaction was completed, the financing was the largest single-sponsor CMBS transaction to date
  • Serves as Midwestern and Southeastern regional counsel to life insurance company in connection with all of its mortgage loans made in those regions (23 states)
  • Representation of developer of office building in Atlanta including site acquisition, financing, construction contracts and architect's  agreements
  • Representation of a borrower in connection with a $300 million securitized loan transaction involving eleven office buildings located in seven states
  • Representation of a borrower (REIT) in connection with a $750 million securitized first mortgage loans involving five (5) shopping centers in four states
  • Acquisition (including, working with local government) of property on Southside of Chicago (2101 S. Wabash) for L'Oréal USA
  • Representation of a lender in connection with various construction loans made to developer of air plane hanger facilities
  • Representation of landlord in lease to American National Bank at 120 South LaSalle
