Aileen Leventon, JD, MBA, is a business counselor to the legal industry and a practicing lawyer with over 30 years of experience. Aileen specializes in applying business principles to the practice of law to improve economic results and enhance client service.

QLex Consulting Inc., founded by Aileen in 2006, provides customized consulting, coaching, and training that enable lawyers to effectively and systematically integrate business practices in their work. QLex clients include Fortune 500 companies as well as the most prestigious, profitable law firms in the AmLaw 100 and 200. Aileen has trained over 200 general counsels from some of the nation’s largest corporations on project management.

Aileen facilitates after-action reviews to promote sound economics, improve client service, and generate buy-in for legal project management techniques. She actively coaches clients to bring distressed matters back on course. Aileen has pioneered a variety of hands-on workshops for corporate legal department members, senior law department managers, and law firm partners (including new partners and client-relationship leads). She instituted the pilot program for the Association of Corporate Counsel’s legal services management curriculum, now in its fourth year, and designed a program for senior associates on partnership track for The Fullbridge Program. A member of the bar, she provides training for lawyers through the NYC Bar Association. Aileen has also served as the project manager for the Legal Project Management Task Force of the American Bar Association Committee on Mergers & Acquisitions since its inception in 2012.

After receiving her MBA, Aileen served as a partner in the global legal management consulting practice at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP ('95–'02), and at the US office of Blaqwell Inc. ('04–'06). She began her legal career at Proskauer Rose LLP in New York and later worked as a transactional lawyer at Equitable Life/AXA, where she managed litigation and new product development. She has also held positions with entrepreneurial organizations in the legal and non-profit sectors.

Aileen graduated from Columbia Business School ('94), Cornell Law School ('77) where she was Managing Editor of the Cornell Law Review, and Stony Brook University ('74) where she was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. She has been trained as an instructor by the National Institute of Trial Advocacy (NITA) to deliver business skills programming for lawyers.
