Adam Sokol has been an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Illinois since 1996 in the consumer fraud division. Since 1999, he has been the primary attorney on civil internet issues. He has successfully investigated and prosecuted cases involving internet auction fraud, affiliate marketing fraud, and cybersquatting. He has also conducted training seminars for local, state and federal law enforcement personnel on matters such as   internet investigation techniques. He has taught several CLE classes on various internet law related topics, and he has similarly guest lectured at Northwestern law school. Adam has also appeared as the “internet fraud expert” on several local television and radio stations. As  part of the consumer fraud bureau, he has actively been involved in the wide spectrum of matters that involve consumer fraud, ranging from fraudulent immigration service providers, ticket “scalpers” and auto dealers.
