Adam P. Strochak

Adam Strochak is a partner in the Washington DC office of Weil, Gotshal & Manges. He has practiced with the firm since 1993 and concentrates in corporate restructuring, representing both debtors and creditors in restructuring matters both in and out of court. Mr. Strochak's practice focuses on litigation of high stakes disputes involving financial reorganization, bankruptcy and insolvency. He also has represented clients in a wide variety of industries on environmental, insurance coverage, contract disputes and commercial litigation matters.

In Chapter 11 cases, Mr. Strochak has represented debtors from diverse industries, including real estate, banking, manufacturing, energy, telecommunications, computers, steel, healthcare, building products and retail sales. Major debtor representations include General Growth Properties, Washington Mutual, Lexington Precision, WorldCom, Silicon Graphics, Global Crossing, Genesis Health Ventures, Sun Healthcare, Enron, Eagle-Picher Industries, Republic Technologies, Brothers Gourmet Coffee and Metallurg. Mr. Strochak also has represented  creditors, official committees, and ad hoc committees in both out-of-court workouts and court-supervised restructurings.

Mr. Strochak is a co-author, with David R. Berz, Stanley M. Spracker and Annemargaret Connolly, of a three-volume treatise entitled Environmental Law in Real Estate and Business Transactions, which focuses on the implications of environmental law in transactional and restructuring matters. He also has written for a variety of publications on current topics in restructuring, environmental law and insurance coverage, and has published a Collier Monograph entitled Environmental Issues in Bankruptcy Cases (LexisNexis 2009).

Mr. Strochak received his undergraduate degree, with honors, from the University of Vermont. He received his J.D. degree, with honors, from the George Washington University Law School.
