Achilles M. Perry is Vice President - General Counsel (US) of Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce. Achilles heads CIBC's US Legal Department, which is based in New York, and is responsible for advising the bank's global business units on the laws and regulations applicable to their banking and securities activities in the US. Prior to joining CIBC in 2003, Achilles spent three years managing the Compliance team that supported the equity derivatives and proprietary trading desks at Goldman, Sachs & Co. He began his career in private practice at O'Melveny & Myers LLP in New York, where he was a member of the securities litigation and white collar defense practice groups. He was a law clerk for one year in the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey.  Achilles graduated from Fordham Law School in 1989, where he was Articles Editor of the Fordham Law Review and from Brandeis University cum laude in 1986.
