Abigail Slater is General Counsel at the Internet Association, a trade association that represents 40 of the world's leading internet companies.  At the IA, she is an advocate for internet intermediaries on public policy issues before the courts and regulatory agencies. She also works to build out the IA's presence overseas, in particular in the EU.  Prior to the IA, she spent 10 years at the Federal Trade Commission, where she worked as an antitrust enforcement attorney and as attorney advisor to Commissioner Julie Brill.  She first qualified as a lawyer at Freshfields in London and also worked in their Brussels and Washington, DC offices.  She holds law degrees from University College Dublin and Oxford University.
