Overview

This One-Hour Briefing will help you understand key aspects of energy trading compliance and regulatory enforcement relevant to trading of electricity, natural gas, crude oil and other products. Our panel will review the jurisdiction of FERC and CFTC - the key regulators and enforcers - as well as exchanges such as CME and ICE. It will discuss, among other things, lessons learned from recent enforcement cases and settlements for companies and individuals engaged in trading physical and financial energy products. 

Robert S. Fleishman, a partner at Kirkland & Ellis LLP with extensive experience in energy compliance and enforcement matters, will moderate a panel where Brooksany Barrowes, a partner at Baker Botts L.L.P. and Jeremy I. Medovoy, Branch Chief, Division of Investigations at the Office of Enforcement, Federal Energy Regulatory Commission will address:
