Overview

Child custody and visitation is a complex and ever-evolving area of family law. Those who appear before the Family Courts of New York must understand how to effectively represent their respective clients in these complex and emotionally-charged proceedings. This half-day program will focus on providing an overview of custody and visitation issues in the court, as well as diving into the specifics of using evaluations appropriately. Receive insight and practical guidance from a faculty of experienced judges and practitioners, and walk away with a better understanding of how to effectively obtain the assistance of the Family Court.

This program is designed for 18b panel attorneys, staff at legal services organizations, judges, hearing officers, and anyone actively practicing in the Family Courts of the State of New York. Social workers and other professionals working with family law attorneys and in the Family Court will also benefit from attending this program.
