You and nearly everyone you do business with has a LinkedIn profile and uses it regularly.  LinkedIn is examined more than law firm biographies, so maximizing your online footprint is critical in today’s crowded marketplace.  While it is imperative that you distinguish yourself as much as possible, it must be done within the rules of ethics.

Nathan Aaron Rosen of Herrick, Feinstein LLP and LAC Group will discuss best practices for:

  • Knowing your online social media footprint
  • Owning your information
  • Developing your profile
  • Using online information for maximum value in locating and researching others to the extent permitted by ethics and court rules

Clear and easy-to-follow practices will be described so that you can develop your LinkedIn presence by creating a compelling profile; determine your setting for both security and information flow; connect to the right people; contribute useful value-added information to help make you a thought leader; and continue to manage and update your account.  In addition, special attention will be given to the evolving ethics issues regarding endorsement/recommendations and the need for disclaimers.
