Overview

The Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (“FCPA”) has been a cornerstone of U.S. white collar crime enforcement activity for the last decade.  In recent years, however, a significant increase in international anti-corruption enforcement has raised the stakes even higher for multinational companies.  As enforcement authorities around the world have stepped up their individual anti-corruption efforts, they have also intensified their cooperation with enforcement authorities in other countries.

Entities operating across borders now must focus not only on the U.S. Department of Justice and U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, but also on regulators across the globe.  In this new environment, it is essential to understand different jurisdictions’ anti-bribery regimes and enforcement priorities.

Michael S. Diamant of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP will discuss:

·        The impact of increased international coordination;
·        Key recent developments and trends in Brazil, China, France, and the UK; and
·        The publication of ISO 37001, a new anti-bribery standard.
