Overview

Why you should attend

The SEC has adopted its final rules relating to the registration of private fund advisers and set a compliance deadline of March 30, 2012. Hedge fund managers now need to think about not only completing their Form ADVs, but also post-registration life as registered entities.  At this program, three distinguished panels of experts will discuss the regulatory and compliance challenges facing hedge fund managers from three perspectives: registration and building an effective compliance program, working with investors, and effecting transactions.

Panelists will not only provide updates on the many new rules affecting hedge funds, but also provide practical suggestions for how in-house legal and compliance professionals can cope with the increased compliance burdens and regulatory focus.

What you will learn

  • An update on SEC registration and key deadlines – what should managers be doing and when?
  • Constructing and implementing an effective compliance program
  • Compliance challenges affecting hedge funds in 2012, including developing trading policies, managing conflicts of interest, the latest on “pay-to-play,” and the SEC’s continued focus on Regulation M
  • Strategies for addressing and anticipating potentially problematic compliance and regulatory risks

Who should attend
