The Essential Components of a Chapter 7 Bankruptcy Filing
This free pro bono program from PLI, in cooperation with The State Bar of California, is a basic "How to File a Chapter 7" program. If you want to volunteer to assist unrepresented low-income clients, volunteer in pro bono clinics, or develop a bankruptcy practice of your own, this program will give you the tools you need to get started. In this free one-hour on-demand presentation (audio-only) our speakers address Temporary Protected Status applications and disaster-related pro bono legal/non-legal assistance that allows you to help minimize the risk of catastrophic loss of life and infrastructure. More Info

Practising Law Institute's pro bono activities reflect its deep commitment to the public service work of the legal profession. In 2009, PLI awarded over 8,500 scholarships.

PLI would be pleased to discuss with legal services and legal aid organizations, public interest groups, law firms, corporations, nonprofit organizations, and foundations, ways in which PLI's programs and services may be used to further the pro bono work of lawyers and related professionals.

Scholarships

Full and partial scholarships are available for judges, judicial law clerks, law professors, law students, attorneys 65 or older, law librarians, attorneys who work for nonprofit organizations, legal services organizations or government agencies, and unemployed attorneys. Scholarship applications must be submitted at least four weeks prior to the Live Seminar, Webcast, or CLE Now (on-demand web program) you wish to attend.
