Biography


William P. Rogers, Jr. is a partner in the Firm's Corporate Department. Bud's practice encompasses the representation of both corporate and financial institution clients in a wide variety of matters, including international securities offerings, corporate governance and SEC compliance matters, mergers and acquisitions and derivative financial products.

Recently, Bud advised Banco Santander SA in its US$100 billion acquisition of ABN AMRO by a consortium of bidders, including Santander; Royal Dutch Shell plc in connection with its corporate restructuring and earlier reserves and financial restatements; and Ineos Group Limited, a major UK chemical company, in the financing of its acquisition of the Innovene chemicals business from BP plc. Bud has regularly advised a wide variety of the Firm's clients including Shell, Bacardi Limited, Polygon Investment Partners, Morgan Stanley, Citigroup and Credit Suisse.

Bud was born in Bronxville, New York. He joined Cravath in 1979 and became a partner in 1985. From 1998 to 2001, he served as the Firm's Corporate Managing Partner, and from 2001 to 2007, he headed the Firm's London office. Bud currently serves as Vice Chairman of the Strategy Board.
