Join us for a Pro Bono Interactive Learning Course - Effective Communication with the Legal Services Client 2015.

As part of our continuing commitment to the pro bono community, PLI is delighted to offer an exciting new Interactive Learning Center program this summer, Effective Communication with the Legal Services Client 2015.

With many states enacting new pro bono requirements and easing some restrictions on pro bono representation, it is becoming more important than ever for lawyers to understand the unique challenges posed by pro bono clients. PLI's second annual massive open online course (MOOC) is free for anyone who wants to learn more about how to meet the unique challenges posed by pro bono clients. The format for the MOOC is unlike any of PLI's other programs.

The course, chaired by Alicia Aiken, Executive Director of the Confidentiality Institute, will be held exclusively online from June 15-19. This CLE accredited course runs five consecutive days for 30-45 minutes each day. Students are expected to participate each day but may attend at a time that is convenient for them. The course will teach new attorneys and seasoned professionals how to work effectively and cooperatively with their pro bono client.

What You Will Learn

  • Strategies for establishing a trusting and productive relationship
  • Techniques for getting to know your client
  • Tips for effective communication with your client
  • Strategies for helping your client make informed legal choices

Effective Communication with the Legal Services Client 2015 will be of particular interest to attorneys assisting pro bono clients through representation or in clinical settings, firm pro bono coordinators and partners, corporate law department pro bono managers, law clinic students and faculty, and public interest and non-profit organization attorneys and staff.

This unique experience is free and open to everyone! We encourage you to share this email with colleagues who may be interested in learning more about working with pro bono clients.

Register today to reserve your spot.

We look forward to having you join us in June!

Sincerely,

Chris Rousseau
