Pro Bono

Advocating for Veterans - the Basics on Benefits, Discharge Upgrades and Cultural Competency

Free Program!

Won't you help veterans obtain the benefits they deserve? All you need to do is file an application to become an accredited attorney before the Veterans Administration and attend this program. Don't miss this unique opportunity to give back to those who have served.

Many veterans do not receive VA medical and financial benefits. Attend this free program to get the basics you need to represent veterans so that they can get the VA benefits they've earned.

Attorneys and advocates who want to assist veterans in obtaining benefits on a pro bono basis, and those who hope to expand their practice areas to include veterans' cases where fees are available should register for one or more of the sessions.

Here's what you will learn from our expert faculty:

  • The benefits available to veterans with disabilities
  • How to develop and evaluate the veteran's claim
  • Take away strategies and practice tips for successful hearings or appeals
  • Dealing with special issues: Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, Traumatic Brain Injury, and Military Sexual Trauma
  • Successful techniques for representing veterans transitioning from combat to community
  • Practice pointers in handling discharge upgrades

Register now for this important pro bono program and volunteer to ensure our veterans get the benefits they need when they return home.

(Be sure to read the information about VA accreditation and the CLE requirement in the program description on the PLI website.)
