Why you should attend

Satisfy part of your mandatory continuing legal education requirements in New Jersey and hone your legal professionalism by attending PLI’s New Jersey Basic CLE Marathon program on May 28, 2013. In accordance with New Jersey’s requirements, this one-day program will include New Jersey-specific instruction and discussion on topics authorized by the Supreme Court of New Jersey Board of Continuing Legal Education.

Who should attend

Attorneys licensed in New Jersey are now required to complete twenty-four credit hours of mandatory continuing legal education every two years. Of those twenty-four credits, at least four credits must be in ethics and/or professionalism and at least twelve credits must be obtained through live attendance at a New Jersey accredited continuing legal education program.

In addition to the general requirements, a newly admitted lawyer must obtain fifteen credit hours in any five of nine designated subject areas during the newly admitted lawyer’s first compliance period, including New Jersey basic estate planning, New Jersey civil trial preparation; New Jersey family law, New Jersey real estate closing procedures and New Jersey municipal court practice. Newly admitted attorneys can obtain 7.8 live NJ CLE credit hours by attending the PLI New Jersey Basic CLE Marathon.
