Why You Should Attend

Human Trafficking in Immigrant Communities: Current Issues in Preparing Petitions for T Nonimmigrant Status addresses the practical challenges faced when seeking immigration relief for trafficking victims and is structured for practitioners who are already familiar with the basic immigration framework for T nonimmigrant status.

For attorneys who need training on basic T eligibility, it is recommended that they first watch PLI’s on-demand program Human Trafficking in Immigrant Communities: Legal Responses 2015, available at www.pli.edu.

• Assessing and overcoming inadmissibility
• Ethical questions that attorneys might confront during the course of representing an applicant for T nonimmigrant status

Who Should Attend

This program is aimed at legal services/nonprofit attorneys who work with immigrant and at-risk clients and attorneys who would like to provide pro bono services to survivors of human trafficking.  It presumes familiarity with the basic immigration framework for T nonimmigrant status.

As part of PLI’s commitment to public service and the pro bono activities of the legal community, there is no fee to attend this program.
