Overview
Effective July 1, 2014, the State Bar of California requires 1 hour in each of the following special requirements:
- Competence Issues (formerly known as Prevention, Detection & Treatment of Substance Abuse or Mental Illness)
- Recognition and Elimination of Bias in the Legal Profession and Society (formerly Elimination of Bias in the Legal Profession)
PLI's California MCLE Marathon is approved for 1 hour of Competence Issues (which is listed as Substance Abuse in the Credit Information Box at right), 1 hour of Recognition and Elimination of Bias in the Legal Profession and Society and 4 hours of Legal Ethics. Your California Certificate will reflect these categories.
