Overview

Why You Should Attend

The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) recently celebrated its fourth anniversary and the consumer financial services industry is struggling to keep pace with the CFPB’s extraordinary number of regulatory and enforcement initiatives.  At the same time state and other federal regulators and attorneys general are ramping up their activities, and the volume of private litigation, including class actions, remains very high.  All of these developments have resulted in a sea change in how the industry is treating compliance.

In our 21st year, we will focus on a broad array of recent regulatory, enforcement and litigation issues relating to mortgages, auto finance, student loans, credit, debit and prepaid cards, deposit accounts, the use of emerging payment systems, including mobile wallets, and other products and services.  We will also examine new developments in fair lending, TCPA, FCRA, the Military Lending Act and SCRA.

What You Will Learn

  • Developments at the CFPB during the past year and its agenda for the next year featuring several speakers from the CFPB
  • How to develop a compliance management system that will keep your company out of the crosshairs of the CFPB and other agencies
  • Recent regulatory and enforcement initiatives of other federal and state regulators and attorneys general
  • The latest wave of class action litigation against banks and other consumer financial services companies
  • Regulatory and litigation priorities of consumer advocates in the next year
  • The increased focus on privacy and data security and how that impacts products being offered over the Internet and through smart phones
