Yoshimi O. Smith is a founding member of the law firm of Beller Smith, P.L., located in Boca Raton, Florida. She began her estate and trust practice in New York before moving her practice to Florida in 2004. She concentrates her practice in the areas of estate planning, estate and trust administration, business succession planning and asset protection. Ms. Smith is a graduate of Hofstra University Law School where she received her J.D. She also holds a B.A. from the State University of New York at Stony Brook. Ms. Smith is admitted to practice law in New York and Florida. She is active in local and national bar associations and is currently serving as Chair of the Probate Committee for the South Palm Beach County Bar Association. She has served on the board of directors of a number of charitable organizations including the Morikomi Museum and Kids in New Direction and was nominated as Woman of the Year by the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
Ms. Smith lectures and publishes nationally on a variety of tax and estate planning topics and has lectured and written for the Florida Legal Education Association, Florida Bar Attorney/Trust Officer Liaison Conference, South Palm Beach County Bar Association, New York City Bar Association, New York State Bar Association, New York University Tax Institute, various charities, community and professional organizations.
