William M. Lafferty (Bill) is a partner in Morris, Nichols, Arsht & Tunnell and a member of the firm's Corporate Litigation Group. Bill's practice primarily involves corporate and commercial litigation, with a particular emphasis on cases involving mergers and acquisitions, proxy contests and consent solicitations, shareholder class and derivative actions, and other corporate governance issues. Bill's litigation practice is concentrated on cases pending in the Delaware Court of Chancery and Supreme Court. Bill also advises corporate clients and boards of directors with respect to litigation and transactional matters.
Bill received a B.S.B.A. from the University of Delaware in 1985 and a J.D. from The Dickinson School of Law in 1989. Prior to joining Morris, Nichols, Arsht & Tunnell, Bill was a judicial law clerk for The Honorable Maurice A. Hartnett, III in the Delaware Court of Chancery.
