William A. Tanenbaum

William A. Tanenbaum is the Chair of IP and Technology Transactions Group and Chair of the Green Tech and Sustainability Group at Kaye Scholer LLP and a Partner in the firm's New York and Palo Alto offices.* He also heads the firm's Cloud Computing, Big Data and Analytics, Social Media, Privacy and Data Information and Social Business practices, and works in health care informatics, Life Sciences and IT-enabled sustainability in mainstream businesses and their supply chains. He is a past president of the International Technology Law Association (formerly named the Computer Law Association) and is currently a Vice-President of the New York Metro Chapter of the Society for Information Management ("SIM"), an industry association of senior IT executives.

Mr. Tanenbaum serves as lead partner in IT and IP transactions and in patent litigations. In 2011, he lead a team that handled a significant business method patent case for a multinational financial institution. He also lead a team that won a victory for a multinational medical device client in a patent case in the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. He is the founder and co-chair of two annual multi-city PLI conferences. One is on Outsourcing and the other is on Green Law and Business. He is a graduate of Brown University (degree with highest honors and Phi Beta Kappa), Cornell Law School and the Bob Bondurant School of High Performance Driving.
