Timothy D. Hauser is the Associate Solicitor of the Plan Benefits Security Division of the U.S. Department of Labor. The Division, which Mr. Hauser heads, is responsible for legal work arising under the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974 (ERISA). His legal staff performs both litigation and regulatory work. Before Mr. Hauser became Associate Solicitor, he was a Senior Trial Attorney in the Division, where he handled a number of the Division's most important cases.
A graduate of the University of Illinois, Mr. Hauser holds a J.D. from Harvard Law School.
