Susan C. Ervin is a member of Davis Polk's Financial Institutions Group, practicing in the Washington DC office. Her practice focuses on derivatives, futures, alternative investment vehicles and investment companies. Prior to joining Davis Polk, Ms. Ervin served as Attorney Fellow/Senior Advisor at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, where she helped develop regulatory approaches to the derivatives markets. She also served for more than ten years as Deputy Director and Chief Counsel of the Division of Trading and Markets of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission. Ms. Ervin is a frequent speaker and author on derivatives and investment management issues. She is the current Chair of the Derivatives and Futures Law Committee of the American Bar Association Business Law Section and she is a member of the Executive Committee of the Law and Compliance Division of the Futures Industry Association.
