Stephen J. Newman is a partner in the Los Angeles office of Stroock & Stroock & Lavan LLP.  Mr. Newman's practice focuses on complex class action litigation, usually on behalf of financial institutions. In June 2009, he was recognized at the Library of Congress by the William C. Burton Foundation for excellence in Plain English legal writing. Mr. Newman received a J.D. with honors from the University of Chicago Law School, where he was a member of the Law Review. He received an A.B. magna cum laude in Economics from Harvard University, where he was an editor of the Crimson.
