Sara Hansen Wilson is a partner in the firm's Real Estate Practice Group. She focuses her practice on leasing, acquisitions and dispositions and financing commercial real estate properties. Sara provides practical, goal oriented counsel to business clients.
Investments: Sara represents real estate investors and developers in joint ventures and a wide range of acquisitions and dispositions of commercial real estate. Her experience includes acquisitions and dispositions of office buildings, shopping centers and warehouses for both local developers and national institutional investors.
Leasing: Sara has substantial experience representing both landlords and tenants in leasing in regional shopping centers, "lifestyle" centers, mixed use centers and urban street locations. She has led retail developers through the leasing of new developments and major redevelopments of shopping center projects as well as launched the roll out of new lines of stores for retailers. Sara also represents both
owners and users leasing office, warehouse and industrial properties.
Finance: Sara has broad experience representing borrowers and lenders in loan originations and workouts secured by real property in various asset classes. She also represents lenders and borrowers in loans secured by personal property and mixed collateral financings.
Professional and Civic: Sara was recently named as a Northern California "Woman of Influence" by the editors of Real Estate Forum magazine and GlobeSt.com. She is an editor of the California Real Properties Sales Transactions publication of Continuing Education of the Bar of the State Bar of California. She is a frequent speaker on commercial real estate topics for various organizations, including the
ICSC Law Conference, ALIABA, PLI, CLE International and California Continuing Education of the Bar. Prior to joining Drinker Biddle she was a partner at DLA Piper (US) LLP and its predecessor firm, Steinhart & Falconer LLP.
