Sally J. Elkington is a sole practitioner and principal in the Elkington Law office. Ms. Elkington has been practicing law since 1989, and specifically consumer bankruptcy law for over twenty years, representing debtors exclusively. Ms. Elkington currently files in all of the divisions of the Northern District of California, and has also practiced in the Eastern District of California.
Ms. Elkington serves as a Commissioner for the California State Bar Judicial Nomination and Evaluation Commission (JNE) and is the Immediate Past President of the Board of Directors of the Alameda County Bar Association (ACBA). She has served as both chair and board liaison to the Bankruptcy and Consumer Law Section Executive Committees, and chair of the Lawyer Referral Governing Committee.
She was selected and just completed her term as a member of the Northern District of California Bench Bar Committee.
Ms. Elkington is a member of the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys (NACBA) and served on the Credit Abuse Resistance Education (CARE) Program development committee of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court, Northern District. She has been a speaker on numerous panels and symposiums in the area of Bankruptcy Law for various organizations including Bankruptcy and Commercial Law section of the Alameda County Bar Association and the Bar Association of San Francisco, Sacramento Bankruptcy Forum, Bay Area Bankruptcy Forum, National Association of Chapter Thirteen Trustees, Northern District of Chapter 7 Trustees, National Association of Bankruptcy Trustees, Practising Law Institute, and the Law Review Continuing Legal Education (CLE).
Ms. Elkington received her law degree from New College of Law of California, and earned a Bachelor of Science in Speech and Communication Studies, from San Francisco State University. She was admitted to the California state bar in 1989.
