Ross Weisman is a partner in the intellectual property practice group in the Chicago office of Kirkland & Ellis LLP. Mr. Weisman is the head of the advertising, marketing and promotions group and counsels clients in virtually all aspects of advertising and promotions law. Mr. Weisman has extensive experience defending and challenging advertising claims in federal court under 43(a) of the Lanham Act (and working with the experts who conduct the consumer perception surveys so critical to these cases), as well as before the National Advertising Division of the Council of Better Business Bureaus (NAD). Mr. Weisman is a frequent speaker regarding advertising and promotions law topics. He has hosted Kirkland's Advertising Law Seminar since 1998. He also speaks frequently at NAD conferences and Promotion Marketing Association conferences, and he has spoken at FTC seminars. Mr. Weisman is a member of the Illinois and New Hampshire Bar Associations and the American Bar Association. He received his B.A. from Northwestern University in 1988 and graduated cum laude from Boston University School of Law in 1993. Prior to attending law school, Mr. Weisman worked at Leo Burnett USA.
