Raymond Y. Lin has been a partner in the New York office of Latham & Watkins LLP for over 20 years. Mr. Lin's practice focuses primarily on the representation of private equity firms in mergers and acquisitions as well as representing issuers and underwriters in capital markets transactions. In addition Mr. Lin has worked on over 20 initial public offerings; debt financing transactions; debt exchange offers and consent solicitations; negotiated loan workouts and debt restructurings; negotiated acquisitions (public and private); represented lenders and borrowers in loan transactions; and has represented sponsors and investors in limited partnerships and real estate investment trusts.
In recent years, he has represented financial investors such as Apollo Global Management LLC, BC Partners Ltd., and Coastal Development LLC; and companies such as Kimco Realty Corporation, Tanger Factory Outlet Centers, Inc., Verso Paper Corporation, RHI Entertainment, Inc., Compass Minerals International, Inc. and Waterford Gaming LLC.
In 1985, Mr. Lin was a law clerk to the Honorable Collins J. Seitz, Circuit Judge, United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, Wilmington, Delaware. He received his law degree from Columbia University School of Law in 1984 where he was a James Kent Scholar and the Treasurer and Editor of the Columbia Law Review. He presently serves on the Board of Visitors of Columbia Law School.
