Professor Martin A. Schwartz has taught evidence for over 25 years at Touro Law Center and lectured on evidentiary issues at several CLE programs, including  the New York State Judicial Institute. He  is one of the nation's leading authorities on Section 1983 civil rights litigation and is the author of a multi-volume treatise on that subject , including  Section 1983 Litigation: Federal Evidence 5th ed. 2012). In addition to chairing PLI's Trial Evidence program, Professor Schwartz chairs PLI's  annual Section l983 Litigation program and co-chairs PLI's  Supreme Court Review. He has been a columnist for the New York Law Journal for over 36 years.
