Peter Pettibone is Of Counsel to Hogan Lovells and is based in New York City. Previously, he was the Managing Partner of Hogan & Hartson's Moscow office, a position he held for more than 10 years.
Mr. Pettibone has over 35 years of experience in U.S.-Russia trade and investment. His practice focused primarily on general corporate advice to U.S. and other Western companies engaging in business in the Russian market, as well as advice to Russian companies seeking to conduct transactions in the West.
Mr. Pettibone served as counsel to the U.S.-U.S.S.R. Trade and Economic Council, the principal East-West trade organization of the Soviet era, for 20 years. After the dissolution of the Trade Council in 1993, he became a founding director of, and counsel to, the U.S.-Russia Business Council. He also served as co-chair of the Investment Committee of the American Chamber of Commerce in Russia for 10 years and is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations.
Mr. Pettibone received his AB degree from Princeton, in 1961 where he majored in the Woodrow Wilson School, his J.D. from Harvard Law School in 1964 and an LL.M. degree from NYU Law School in 1971. He is a member of the New York and District of Columbia Bars and is a Vice Chair of the American Bar Association's Russia/Eurasia Committee.
