Peter Schechter focuses his complex intellectual property litigation, patent & trademark prosecution and counseling practice on small to mid-size companies worldwide that do business in the United States. Clients who are most often without significant in-house IP legal capabilities rely on him to help formulate and then execute practical, costeffective and efficient strategies for success, while always working
within real-world limits on available resources and budgets.
He has been included in the New York Super Lawyers listing, a Thomson Reuters publication, in 2007, 2008 and 2010.
Peter guides clients through all phases of intellectual property disputes, from pre-litigation analyses through trial, if necessary. He advises clients on, and manages interdisciplinary legal teams handling, intellectual property purchases and sales, whether standalone transactions or as part of broader corporate transactions. A registered patent practitioner since 1984, he also conducts and supervises others in the handling of complex U.S. Patent and Trademark Office proceedings, including patent reexaminations and reissue proceedings, particularly those related to pending or anticipated litigation matters.
