Peter Halls is a partner at the law firm of Faegre & Benson LLP. He has handled a wide range of construction issues, including negotiating contract documents, identifying and negotiating claims, conducting mediations, and handling arbitrations and trials. Projects he has worked on include the new 35W Bridge in Minneapolis, the new Twins Ball Park, the FedEx Forum in Memphis, the Disney Concert Hall, ethanol plants, biofuel plants, power plants, and several thousand megawatts of wind and solar electricity generation facilities.
Peter is a fellow in the American College of Construction Lawyers and has been Chair of the Minnesota State Bar Association Construction Law Section, Chair of the International Construction Division of the American Bar Association Forum Committee on the Construction Industry, President of the Minnesota Construction Association, President of the Minnesota Chapter of the Construction Management Association of America, and head of the Construction Law Practice Group at his firm. He is also a member of the panel of construction arbitrators of the American Arbitration Association and is qualified to serve as a neutral mediator and arbitrator for Minnesota courts. Peter is recognized in The Best Lawyers in America and Minnesota Super Lawyers, and is the Best Lawyers® 2012 Minneapolis Construction Lawyer of the Year. He received his Bachelor's degree from Dartmouth College magna cum laude and his Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Minnesota Law School magna cum laude, where he was a member of the Order of the Coif and the Minnesota Law Review.
