Peter Brown

After several decades of practice in large law firms, Peter Brown recently formed his own New York City-based practice under the name Peter Brown & Associates.  In his new practice he utilizes the latest cloud-based applications to lead a virtual law firm focused on information technology. Through the use of technology he expects to create a high quality practice with responsive service, lower costs and flexible staffing. 

Mr. Brown has over 30 years' experience in a wide variety of litigation relating to intellectual property and information technology. He regularly appears in both federal and state courts, in New York and across the United States. In addition, Mr. Brown acts as an arbitrator and mediator on IT matters. 

Throughout his career he has also been involved in drafting and negotiating all types of commercial agreements relating to computer systems, computer software, Internet applications and e-commerce.

Mr. Brown has co-authored the leading treatises Emerging Technologies and the Law and Computer Law: Drafting and Negotiating Forms and Agreements. He also co-authors a monthly column on Information Technology Law for the New York Law Journal. 

Mr. Brown is regularly featured as a speaker at PLI, bar associations and other professional organizations in the U.S. and abroad. His articles have appeared in numerous legal and trade publications.

Chambers USA, Best Lawyers in America and other ratings organization have all given Mr. Brown high ratings in the fields of IT and IP.
