Michael Granston is currently Acting Director of the Civil Fraud Section of the U.S. Department of Justice. Before joining the Department, he clerked for Judge David Ebel of the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals, and worked for the Washington D.C. law firm of Covington and Burling. He joined the Department in 1997 as a Trial Attorney. In his current capacity as Acting Director, his responsibilities include establishing the Department's position on matters of False Claims Act interpretation and policy. He has lectured extensively and appeared on numerous panels relating to the False Claims Act and the Department's civil enforcement activities.
