Melissa R. Gold is a Senior Vice President and Associate General Counsel at JP Morgan Chase. Melissa joined the JP Morgan Chase Legal Department (then Chemical Bank) almost 20 years ago and is a member of the HR Law Group covering the Investment Bank, Treasury & Security Services and the Global Corporate Bank. Her practice includes a wide variety of employment law issues involving both employment litigation/arbitration and counseling. She also has extensive experience with issues arising from the enforcement of post-employment restrictions and in counseling on merger, sale and acquisition related issues through Firm mergers and acquisitions. She serves on JPMorgan's Legal & Compliance Diversity committee, co-chairing the law firm diversity and recruiting initiatives. Melissa received a J.D. from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in New York City and received a B.A. from Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut, where she majored in Economics. She has been admitted to practice before the New York and New Jersey State Bars, the Federal District Courts for New Jersey and the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. Melissa is a member of the Executive Committee, Federal Bar Council Inns of Court. She is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Bloomingdale School of Music, a not-for-profit community music school on the upper west side. She is a member of the YWCA's Academy of Women Achievers and is active in JPMorgan's Women's Network (WIN). She is also a recipient of President Bush's 2005 Volunteer Service Award in recognition of her 100 hours of community service.
