Maurizio Levi-Minzi is a corporate partner, a member of the Latin American Group, and Co-Chair of the firm's Energy & Natural Resources Group. He has more than 15 years of experience in complex cross-border M&A and project finance transactions. Mr. Levi-Minzi regularly represents strategic investors and private equity groups in transactions involving energy and natural resource assets in Latin America and in the U.S. Mr. Levi-Minzi is recognized as a leading lawyer in Latin America by LatinLawyer (2012). He is a contributing author of The Debevoise & Plimpton Private Equity Report and The Deal. Mr. Levi-Minzi also co-chairs the program "Doing Deals in Emerging Markets: BRIC and Beyond (2012)" of the Practising Law Institute. 

Mr. Levi-Minzi is a 1993 graduate of the University of Pennsylvania Law School and holds an M.B.A. in Finance from Golden Gate University. Prior to joining the firm, he was a banker with NMB Bank (ING Bank) in New York. Mr. Levi-Minzi is fluent in Italian and Spanish and reads Portuguese.

  • Companhia de Bebidas das Américas - AmBev in its proposed acquisition of indirect control of Cerveceria Nacional Dominicana (CND) for approximately $1.24 billion and its agreement to form a strategic alliance with E. León Jimenes to create the leading brewer in the Caribbean through the combination of the businesses of CND and AmBev Dominicana.
  • Mitsui in its $6.75 billion bridge loan to Corporación Nacional del Cobre de Chile ("CODELCO") to finance CODELCO's potential acquisition of up to a 49% interest in Anglo American Sur S.A., a wholly owned subsidiary of Anglo American plc.
  • EIG Global Energy Partners in its sale of a minority interest to China Investment Corporation.
  • Companhia de Bebidas das Américas - AmBev in its combination of business activities in Venezuela with Cerveceria Regional S.A.
  • Control and minority investment in Latin American companies by international investors, including the acquisition of Gaspart, a company that owns interests in seven local gas distribution companies in Brazil.
  • The project financing of the Cerro Verde mine in Peru, which was recognized as the Project Finance Deal of the year by LatinLawyer Magazine.
