Matt Shelhorse is a Partner in PwC's Forensic Services Practice in New York. Matt has approximately nineteen years of forensic accounting, consulting and financial management experience and has provided services to clients ranging from start-up entities to Fortune 500 companies, in a variety of industries, including: financial services, banking, insurance, real estate, health care, gaming, entertainment, technology, consumer products, manufacturing and not-for-profit.

Matt has experience in leading large complex engagements for multinational organizations involved in situations that involve the assessment of activities associated with locations across the globe. In this regard, Matt has worked in over eighteen different countries and has experience working with clients and colleagues from additional locations.

Matt's range of experience includes providing assistance to companies with respect to certain corporate investigations, regulatory inquiries/examinations, allegations of bribery and corruption, assessing certain activities and processes for FCPA compliance, conducting risk assessments, controls testing, certain due diligence assignments and analyzing complex data, including data mining of transactional information and other electronic discovery processes.

In connection with certain engagement matters, Matt has interacted with and/or been interviewed by representatives of the U.S. Department of Justice, the U.S Securities and Exchange Commission, the FBI and the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency.  Matt has also provided deposition testimony in a litigation matter involving a former client.

Matt has developed and instructed training courses and case studies on fraud and forensic accounting and has lectured groups on such topics at numerous corporations, universities and professional association events.  Matt has also interacted with certain local universities to assess and discuss their proposed curriculum in the area of forensic accounting.

Matt is a Member of the AICPA and the NYSSCPA and an Associate Member of the ACFE. Matt is a CPA in the State of New York and is Certified in Financial Forensics (CFF) by the AICPA. He received his BA degree in Economics from the State University of New York at Stony Brook and his MBA in Accounting and Finance from Hofstra University.
