Mark P. Shuman has worked in the Division of Corporation Finance of the United States Securities and Exchange Commission since 1992, serving in various capacities. He has been the legal branch chief of the computer and online services operations group in Corp. Fin. since 2004. Before employment with the SEC, Mr. Shuman was secretary and general counsel to a small publicly-held manufacturer of medical devices and plastics for four years. He was previously an associate and then an equity partner with a Denver law firm for six years, engaging in transactional securities practice. He was admitted to practice law in Colorado in 1980. Mr. Shuman received an M.A. in Economics from the University of Colorado in 1977. He is an avid and active student of Russian language and culture.
