Mark E. Baker practices in the area of labor and employment litigation and counseling. Mr. Baker represents management in all types of labor and employment litigation, including claims in federal and state courts, before the EEOC and comparable state agencies, before the U.S. Department of Labor, before the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB), and in arbitration and other alternative forums. He has substantial trial experience. Mr. Baker’s counseling practice includes preparation and review of employment manuals, policies, and employment contracts (including executive agreements and confidentiality and noncompetition agreements), avoidance of liability for wrongful termination and other tort claims, wage/hour audits, compliance with affirmative action and other requirements applicable to government contractors, manager training, and counseling on terminations, layoffs, and other significant employment actions. Mr. Baker has worked in such wide-ranging industries as steel, coal mining, chemical processing, electric utilities, aviation, security services, maintenance and custodial services, government service contracting, professional services firms, consulting firms, trade associations, and nonprofit organizations.
